Now that my 7 month old daughter is starting on the bottle after being nursed full time, I am really nervous about what kinds of bottles to purchase for her and my 21 month old son. With all of the news and reports about BPA (bisphenol A) – a suspected hormone-disrupting chemical used in polycarbonate plastic, from which most baby bottles are made, I went searching for an eco-friendly baby bottle made without the use of any harsh chemicals.

And then I found out about a wonderful company called Green To Grow and their wonderful collection of baby bottles and accessories.

Product Review: “I Love Me” Reminder

March 17th, 2008

I’ve been gone for a while and I have been getting blasted by my IBFers that miss the dish, dirt, dribble and reviews so when I received (out of the many products that I’m starting to get) a box with “I Love Me” on it I was very curious as to what was inside.

I was immediately taken by the soothing scent of vanilla and instantly lit my candle, closed my bedroom door and turned on my new Erykah Badu CD. Now here is the best part of this little miracle worker… ITS ALSO A BODY BUTTER!!!!

Now I know that may sound a little strange but let me explain. So, you light the candle, let it melt a little and then when I blew it out there is a warm, sensual, liquid oil that I could then spread all over my body..Mmmmmmm. Now, lucky for me, my husband was coming out of the bathroom when I started to zone into my “Not Mommy Today” moods and took that opportunity to give him a little massage, which lead to some extra one-on-one time (if you know what I mean IBFs…LOL).

And to top it off, this wonderful product came with an awesome black T-Shirt that said “I Love Me” on it. A constant reminder ladies to always remember to take time to love and cherish the little things and to never forget to love yourself. The owner of the business whose name is Ria Benedict makes me proud with her innovative ideas and so encourage you to get out and support this BeautyFly entrepreneur.

Movie Must-Haves: Chic Flicks

February 16th, 2008

As I sit here with the family, I got a little restless and started fishing through my always growing collection of movies that I adore. Of course, I had to drag the hubby out of the game room and into watch it with me.

So the first movie that I watched (and of course you know he fell asleep) was “Fools Rush In“. And then there’s the fashion-funny “Devil Wears Prada“.

After about 3 movies I decided to share my list of must see oldie but goodie films with my every growing BeautyFly ladies. This little collection of movies are great on those lonely nights but also awesome if you can manage to find a babysitter (as if) and hang out with the girls for a little adult, mommy time. Cheers!

Let me know what other movies are in your “must have” collection and I’ll be sure to add it into another round-up.

REVIEW - Sushi Tea Party

February 13th, 2008

review_sushi_set_sm.jpgMy daughter Destiney, 6, loves to play with food, feeds her doll babies, and enjoys helping me out in the kitchen. So when I discovered the Genius Jones website I had to purchase their wooden Sushi Playset ($20). Aside from the tons of treats they have at their online store, this one takes the traditional fake tea party to a whole new level.

This new slicing sushi set is a meal fit for an emperor! Three types of sushi rolls come with shrimp, tuna, salmon roe and egg toppings, and a few more condiment “extras.” Also includes cleaver and chopsticks.
